Head of Central Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Sub-agency, Wiwik Satriani said the cafe was closed in response to complaints from local residents who felt disturbed because the cafe often caused disturbances and unrest.

"We are following up on the residents aspirations who requested that the cafe's operations be permanently closed following a fight that resulted in one person dying and two people being injured," Wiwik said, Thursday (10/9).

Wiwik added that this activity, including a meeting with public figures of Cempaka Baru Urban Village, will be reported to Central Jakarta Mayor, Arifin.

"We also found out that the cafe's crowd permit had expired," Wiwik added.

Previously, Wiwik explained, his party had sent a warning letter to the cafe owner because of a disturbance between visitors last March.

A riot between visitors occurred again, Thursday (10/2) early morning last week, which resulted in fatalities and injuries.

"We've submitted a recommendation to the Parekraf Agency to give sanctions," Wiwik admitted.
